Tuolumne County Arts is proud to present the county finals for the annual Poetry Out Loud competition on Saturday, February 8th, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Red Church in Sonora, California. This exciting event will feature 8 talented high school students from Sonora and Summerville competing for prizes and the chance to advance to the state finals. Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program and poetry recitation competition. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, POL has engaged more than 4.4 million students across the United States since its inception, helping them master public speaking skills, gain self-confidence, and deepen their appreciation for poetry. The Tuolumne County POL finals promise to be an afternoon of inspiring performances as students recite poems from a variety of genres. TCA encourages everyone to attend and show support for these inspiring young voices! This event is FREE and open to the public.
